From the desk of Mr. Rehmert

Things are really hopping in Thayer as we approach spring of 23′. In the sports arena, we just finished up basketball season. Our boys and girls both had successful seasons. The Lady Flyers finished the season in a strong fashion by defeating Altamont in the Mineral Belt League championship game in a double-overtime thriller. This same group of girls also won the MBL volleyball crown earlier this year. It was a fantastic season and we are looking forward to the upcoming quiz bowl and track seasons.

Our Life 101 class (for 7/8th graders) has been very busy as of late. They have been working on some woodshop projects including cornhole boards and marble tic-tac-toe games. They’ve also been dabbling in the culinary arts and have cooked everything from Thanksgiving dinner dishes to Super Bowl party jalapeno poppers!
Our 6th-grade technology class started doing some video production. Currently, they are producing a daily announcements video which is shared with all staff and students, as well as our community through our school Facebook page. They’ve expanded the video to include many segments including the lunch menu, joke of the day, weather update, pledge of allegiance, and book reviews from our younger students.
It’s been a very exciting year thus far and we’re ready to finish strong.
