Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

by Ashlynn Cook (9th gr.)

Here is a list of everything you will need:

  • 1 large bowl
  • 1 medium bowl
  • 1 tsp. Measuring spoon
  • 1 cup measuring spoon
  • ¼ cup measuring spoon
  • 1 rubber scraper
  • 1 whisk or electric mixer
  • 2 Baking Sheets
  • Some Parchment Paper
  • ½ a bag of your favorite chocolate chips
  • 2 ¼ cups of All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp. Salt
  • 1 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1 cup of soft / room temperature butter
  • ¾ cup of Granulated Sugar
  • ¾ cup of Brown Sugar
  • 1 tsp. of Vanilla Extract
  • 2 Large eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375℉
  2. In your medium bowl, you’re going to combine your flour, salt, and baking soda and make sure it is all mixed together well.
  3. In your large mixing bowl, you are going to want to beat your butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until it has a nice creamy consistency.
  4. In your large mixing bowl, you are going to want to add one egg in and mix it until it is well incorporated, and then you can add in your second egg but make sure you mix it in well!
  5. After your eggs are incorporated, slowly add your flour in sections, or else it will be harder to mix and won’t come out as smooth!
  6. After your dough is mixed together after adding in your flour add in your chocolate chips, I did half a bag but do as much or as little as you would like.
  7. Line your pans with parchment paper to help them not stick to the pan.
  8. Add drops of your cookie dough to your pans, I used a 1 ½ tablespoon ice cream scoop but use however much you want.
  9. Put them in your oven and bake for 8-12 minutes it could be a little more or a little less depending on your oven.
  10. After taking them out of the oven let them cool for a few minutes then enjoy!
