The Interstate Fair and Rodeo

The+Interstate+Fair+and+Rodeo

The interstate Fair and Rodeo is hosted annually in Coffeyville, just south of Cherryvale. The fair brings a few rides and games which you may recognize from Independence’s Neewollah like ‘Freak Out’. Then there were several livestock shows including animals like cattle, sheep, and rabbits. In the rabbit show a current student Morgan Lasco won champion in the Senior Division for showmanship and best of breed in Lionhead and Netherland Dwarf. There were also some exciting events like bull riding and a two day demolition derby. Previous graduates of Cherryvale high school participated in the demo derby, Ethan Schierlman and Hunter Cook. The winner of the demo derby Saturday night was Charles Billman winning $5000 dollars.
